JG Speedfit PEX Pipe Lengths
Useful Information
What is PEX Pipe Used For?
Speedfit PEX pipe offers a flexible and effective plumbing solution, perfect for hot and cold water systems, as well as central and underfloor heating. Suitable for both homes and commercial spaces, it ensures efficient water distribution and boosts the efficiency of heating systems.
Key Features
- Flexibility and Ease of Installation: The John Guest Speedfit PEX barrier pipe boasts remarkable flexibility, facilitating easy installation even over long distances. This flexibility significantly reduces the need for additional fittings, streamlining installation processes and cutting down on labour and material costs.
- Advanced Material Construction: Made of 5 layers, with the core being a blue oxygen barrier, these PEX pipe coils effectively prevent air ingress into the system. This feature minimises corrosion in metal components, enhancing the system's longevity and efficiency.
- Safety and Durability: The low thermal conductivity of PEX material means that the pipe remains cooler when transporting hot water, reducing the risk of burns upon accidental contact. Additionally, the pipe's resistance to corrosion and scale build-up minimises maintenance needs and extends its service life.
- Environmental and Health Safety: The non-toxic material of the PEX pipe ensures safety for water consumption, while also eliminating the need for hot works during installation, thereby reducing potential hazards and environmental impact.
- Performance in Extreme Conditions: The pipe's elasticity and robust construction offer protection against burst pipes in freezing conditions, ensuring reliable performance even in adverse weather.
- Acoustic Benefits: The material and construction of the PEX pipe help in reducing water hammer noise.

Installation Instructions
- Preparation:
- Ensure you have the correct size and length of PEX pipe for your application.
- Gather necessary tools, such as a pipe cutter and fittings.
- Cutting the Pipe:
- Measure and mark the required length of the pipe.
- Use a pipe cutter to ensure a clean, square cut without burrs.
- Inserting Pipe Inserts:
- If applicable, insert a suitable Speedfit pipe insert into the pipe end. This step is crucial for preventing the pipe from collapsing or deforming.
- Making the Connection:
- Push the pipe firmly into the Speedfit fitting until it reaches the pipe stop. The unique design of Speedfit fittings ensures a secure and leak-proof connection without the need for tools.
- Securing the Connection:
- Ensure the pipe is fully inserted and the connection is tight. Test the fitting by pulling gently on the pipe to check for security.
- Testing the System:
- Once all connections are made, pressurize the system and check for leaks. It is important to test the system at the recommended pressure to ensure all fittings are secure and there are no leaks.
- Final Inspection:
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all pipes are correctly laid out and supported, and that there is no risk of damage or stress on the fittings.
- System Commissioning:
- After verifying the system is leak-free, proceed with the commissioning process, gradually introducing water to the system and checking for any issues.
