Hinged pipe clips are essential components designed to securely fasten pipework against walls or partitions. They play a crucial role in any installation of compressed air systems, ensuring that the lightweight piping is adequately supported and safely positioned.
Key Features
Secure Mounting: Provides robust support for plastic or copper pipework, ensuring stability and alignment.
Compatibility: Designed to work seamlessly with John Guest connectors and various pipe types.
Easy Installation: Simplifies the process of securing pipework, no need for heavy-duty mountings or specialised tools.
Flexibility: Accommodates the thermal expansion properties of plastic pipes, allowing safe and efficient installation.
Safety Compliance: Adheres to safety practices outlined in “Approved Code of Practice - Safety of Pressure Systems”.
Specifications
Available Sizes: 15mm, 18mm, 22mm
Material: Polypropylene.
Temperature Range: Suitable for temperatures from -20°C to +70°C, ideal for various environmental conditions.
Applications: Optimal for air, inert gases, vacuum applications, and potable liquids.
Installation Guidelines for Hinged Pipe Clips
Horizontal Pipe Clips: Start by attaching the horizontal pipe clips to ensure proper alignment and support of the pipes.
Vertical Pipe Clips: Attach vertical pipe clips after applying a small amount of pressure to the system, allowing the pipes to position themselves correctly.
Spacing Considerations: Maintain a distance of approximately 10cm from walls and 400mm from fittings to the pipe clip.
Accommodating Expansion: Ensure that the pipe can slide through the mounting brackets to account for thermal expansion.
Below Ground Installation: If installed below ground, use conduit to protect the pipe and allow for temperature-related expansion.
