Technical Specification
Material: Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS)
BS 5255:1989 – Specification for thermoplastic waste pipe and fittings.
Measure and cut the pipe to the required length using a fine-toothed saw.
Remove any burrs and chamfer the pipe end to ensure a smooth, secure fit.
Dry-fit components before solvent welding to check alignment.
Solvent Welding Process:
Clean pipe ends and fitting sockets using an appropriate cleaning fluid.
Apply SC125/SC250 Solvent Cement evenly to both surfaces.
Insert the pipe into the fitting fully, giving it a slight twist to distribute the cement evenly.
Hold it in place for a few seconds and remove excess cement.
Setting Time:
Allow at least 5 minutes before handling the joint.
Avoid applying pressure to the system for 12 hours to allow full bonding.
Support & Fixing Recommendations (BS EN 12056-2):
Vertical runs: Support every 1.2m with pipe clips.
Horizontal runs: Support every 0.5m (32mm & 40mm) or 0.6m (50mm).
Conduct a leak test before commissioning the system.
