Fernco Extra Wide Large Coupling

The Fernco (previously known as Flexseal) Extra Wide Large Coupling, is designed for connecting large diameter pipes in adopted sewer and drainage applications. It's particularly useful when dealing with uneven or non-square pipe ends, often encountered in cut sections of large pipes. This coupling is essential for bridging gaps and providing a secure connection in larger pipe systems.

• Shear Band Protection: Includes a stainless steel shear band to protect joints under heavy loads and maintain pipe alignment.
• High Pressure Resistance: Withstands internal pressures of up to 2.5 bar, ensuring a robust seal even under demanding conditions.
• Custom Fit: Made to order for specific projects to ensure a perfect fit for the pipes being connected.
• Unique Bolting System: Features high torque bolts to maximize contact pressure between the coupling and the pipe for a strong, reliable seal.
• Enhanced Width: The 300mm width is ideal for large diameter pipes, offering improved angular deflection and covering more area, especially on Twinwall pipes.

• Size Range: Available for pipes with diameters of 400mm and above.
• Width: 300mm, providing extra coverage for larger pipes.
• Material: Made from EPDM and 1.4301 (304) Stainless Steel. Options for different materials are available on request.
• Pressure Ratings: Varying by size, ranging from 2.5 bar (36.25 psi) to 0.5 bar (7.25 psi).
• Temperature Range: Suitable for temperatures from -50°C to 80°C continuously, and up to 100°C intermittently.
• Jetting Resistance: Capable of withstanding jetting pressures up to 180 bar.
• Standards Compliance: Meets the requirements of WIS 4-41-01, BS EN 681-1:1996, BS EN 295-4:2013, and BS EN 10088-2:1995.

Installing the Fernco Extra Wide Large Coupling involves:

1. Pipe Preparation: Ensure the ends of the pipes to be connected are clean and free from debris.
2. Positioning the Coupling: Slide the coupling over one end of the pipe, aligning it to cover the uneven or non-square cut section.
3. Connecting the Second Pipe: Insert the second pipe into the opposite end of the coupling, ensuring a snug fit.
4. Securing the Connection: Tighten the coupling's high torque bolts using the supplied 13mm socket with 3/8” square drive, ensuring a secure and leak-free joint.
5. Final Inspection: After installation, verify the integrity of the seal and ensure that the pipes are properly aligned within the coupling.
