Fernco End Cap

The Fernco End Cap, previously known as Flexseal, is a versatile fitting designed for capping pipe ends, cleanouts, and open test pipes. It is especially useful in both above and below-ground plumbing applications for temporarily or permanently sealing off pipe ends. It is ideal for conducting air and water tightness tests in drainage systems.

• Testing Ready: Suitable for air and water testing of drainage pipelines, with a convex face to withstand testing pressures and minimize ballooning.

• Pressure Resistant: Capable of sealing up to a pressure of 0.6 bar (8.7 psi).

• Size Range: Available from 105mm to 360mm, catering to a wide range of pipe sizes.
• Material Composition: Made from high-quality EPDM and 1.4301 (304) Stainless Steel for durability and longevity.
• Pressure Rating: Rated for 0.6 bar (8.7 psi).
• Temperature Range: Suitable for temperatures from -50°C to 80°C continuously, and up to 100°C intermittently.
• Tightening Torque: Recommended torque of 6Nm.
• Optional Feature: Can be supplied with an Air Test Nipple.

Installing the Fernco End Cap is straightforward:

1. Fit the Cap: Slide the end cap onto the pipe end that needs to be sealed.
2. Securing: Tighten the stainless steel clamps to a torque of 6Nm using a torque wrench, ensuring a snug and secure fit.
3. Bracing for Testing: When used for pressure testing, especially on smooth-walled pipes, brace the end cap to prevent inflation and dislodgment under pressure.
