How and Where to Use Pow-R Pipe Wrap
Using the Fernco Pow-R Pipe Wrap involves:
- Surface Preparation: Clean the damaged pipe area, removing oil, grease, rust, or paint. Abrade the surface if applying to PE/PP pipes.
- Mixing Epoxy Putty: Knead the putty to a uniform colour and apply it to the repair area, tapering onto the pipe.
- Activating the Wrap: Open the foil pouch and submerge the wrap in water, squeezing it for thorough saturation.
- Applying the Wrap: Start wrapping the tape around the pipe, ensuring to cover the damaged area comprehensively with multiple layers.
- Securing the Wrap: Maintain tension on the wrap during the curing process, which takes about 30 minutes.
- Finishing: After curing, the repaired area can be sanded and painted if desired.
