Fernco Adaptor Coupling

Fernco (formerly known as Flexseal) Adaptor Couplings, are essential components in unadopted drainage systems. They are primarily used for connecting drainage pipes with varying outside diameters, seamlessly joining larger pipes to smaller ones and vice versa. This capability makes them an ideal solution for private roads, housing sites, industrial areas, and agricultural land.

• Versatile Connection: Adaptor couplings are designed to accommodate differences in pipe diameters, providing a flexible and reliable solution for diverse pipe configurations.
• Durable Components: Each coupling consists of a stepped, moulded EPDM rubber body with two stainless steel clamp bands. This robust construction ensures a long-lasting and resilient connection.
• Easy Installation: The couplings can be tightened onto pipes using a nut driver and torque wrench, facilitating a quick and secure installation process.
• Airtight and Watertight Seal: Once tightened, the couplings create a permanent airtight and watertight seal, ensuring the integrity of the drainage system.

The Fernco Adaptor Coupling is designed for easy installation in unadopted or private drainage systems. To install:

1. Position the coupling over the pipe ends ensuring the sizes match the stepped diameters.
2. Use a nut driver and torque wrench to tighten the stainless steel clamp bands around the pipes.
3. Ensure the coupling is securely fastened to create an airtight and watertight seal.

Installation Note: It's important to note that Adaptor Couplings are not suitable for use in adopted drainage systems regulated by highway agencies, water companies, or local authorities. In these cases, Shear Banded Couplings combined with Bushes are recommended as per WIS 4-41-01 specifications.
